In (potentially) the last T20 of this truncated season, Barrow Gurney were up against old friends, and rivals, the Treasury Valuers.
Batting first Barrow made a competitive 140-4 largely thanks to brother and sister duo of Ed Holdaway (51 retired not out) and with Ellie Holdway (38) hitting two powerful sixes, followed by useful contributions in the last overs from Connor Jones and Bernie Forge.
In reply, an early mix up cost the visitors a run out, and with Paul Barnes also striking, it proved to be a double set back. Although the Valuers seemed to be behind the rate, Flynn (43) kept the score ticking over whilst Connor Jones was taking 3/23 dismissing the batsmen at the other end.
With the pressure on and the light fading, the flight and guile of Frank Forge (3/13) proved decisive, although the Valuers still had a chance of making the runs in the last couple of overs, falling only 14 runs short.
