Midweek captain, Nick Heal, was delighted that his team maintained their 100% record with a win over Bristol Kannada CC last week at Hobbs Lane.
Batting first the visitors found themselves up against some very accurate bowling from Mark Fisher whose 4 overs cost only 8 runs and he took 2 wickets to stifle the batting innings. Connor Jones was equally effective in preventing a mid-innings surge taking 3 for 26. The final total of 114-8 was well below par at the quick scoring ground.
Mark Brown’s fine form continued as he made another half century
Barrow then had a familiar wobble as they lost 3 wickets for 20, but Mark Brown (50 not out) and Ed Holdaway (41 not out) ensured there were no further dramas as they took the home side to a comfortable win.
Next week Barrow will wait to see if they can maintain their record as they travel to Golden Hill.
