Rain ruined both Saturday league games as it was only possible to complete the first innings in both games involving Barrow Gurney. Up at Failand, Barrow Firsts batted and received 43 overs much of it in steady drizzle scoring 215 with Phil Milton (pictured) making 46. In the conditions this was a good all round batting effort with several players making good starts. Guy Fisher made a stylish 36, and brother Mark made some very useful late order runs.
Meanwhile at Hobbs Lane, visitors Patchway batted making 234-7 against Barrow 2nds. There were 2 wickets a piece for Ellie Holdaway and Pete Rooney. Again the end of the innings was blighted by steady fine rain.
Both games concluded at tea due to the state of ground conditions. This leaves the firsts in the relegation zone of Division 4 as YMCA won, meanwhile the 2s are on the cusp as close rivals lost games this week..
