It is with great sadness that we heard of the death of Ian White, who played for Barrow Gurney CC in the 1980s with some of the legendary Barrow players. Ian was a tall and effective off spin bowler who took lots of wickets. He loved the ground at Hobbs Lane and took a particular interest in the trees around the ground. He left the club a legacy to continue to look after existing trees and plant new ones to enhance the look of the ground. Ian only left Barrow as his work took him away from the area.
