Barrow 1sts are on the brink of relegation to Division 4 after losing to Long Ashton 1sts on Saturday. Batting first Long Ashton made 284-6 in their 45 overs with Kane Duffy making exactly 100 and Ned Nicol contributing 88. Barrow’s best figures of 3/52 were returned by Premil Torrington.
In reply Barrow struggled against a strong target. Bernie Forge once again anchored the innings with a solid 28, Mark Brown chipped in with 36, and Alwis top-scored with 41, but with Edward Wilson taking an outstanding 4/38, no other batsman made double figures and Barrow fell 121 short leaving them needing at least one win to avoid the drop.
