Barrow Gurney CC is looking for your support this season.
TheClub is about to enter its 151st season and is looking for more success on and off the field. Last year our Second XI achieved promotion to Div 8 West of the Bristol & District League, whilst the First XI were left ruing a poor start and finish to the season when they also had a chance to reach Div 3. That is their aim this season!
Meanwhile we welcomed the MCC to Barrow Gurney to celebrate our 150th anniversary, which was a wonderful occasion with 100 or more spectators. Many other successful events were held, demonstrating the love of so many players, ex-players and supporters have for this village club. Most of our games are livestreamed and enjoyed regularly by 300 or more viewers!
We also play league T20 cricket and in cup fixtures, last year we narrowly lost out to Senior Division team Cleeve in the Tony Hitch Cup.
All our teams are open to all who want to play adult cricket and we have had several successful women cricketers who play for us. We also hire out the ground to others during the season, such as Somerset Over 70s and Over 60s teams and our regular Sunday colleagues Leema CC, meaning we welcome hundreds of visiting players and spectators each year.
Over the last few years, we have improved the ground and facilities by the addition of an Electronic Scoreboard, new training Nets, roll on covers, better catering facilities and fencing, and a Ladies changing room for the growing numbers of women and girls playing in all or our sides. With the aid of grants, we have recently been able to install solar panels to reduce our energy costs and our carbon footprint. Sponsors have played a key role in this development.
For the future we are looking to further improve the facilities for spectators and visiting teams. We really hope you will support our grass roots village club. In return we can offer you and your clients a warm welcome, exposure on our social media, livestream, websites and to book the ground for your own bespoke function
We are looking for a new shirt sponsor for our red ball games, ideally for a multi-year partnership please do contact us to discuss options and opportunities if your business would be interested in supporting our club in this way.
Opportunities also exist for sponsoring the “Player of the Match” or “Catch of the Match” which will be publicised on our social media accounts.
For £100 or more we will display your firm’s advertising banner during all home matches for the season, and publish your firm’s marketing information on our website, listing them as a main sponsor and also on the Club’s page on the ECB website Barrow Gurney CC (play-cricket.com)
You can become a Match Ball sponsor for a midweek game for only £15, or a weekend Match Ball Sponsor for £40. Your sponsorship will be acknowledged and displayed in our pavilion on the day, and in our match reports and team lists issued on our website (Barrow Gurney Cricket Club (barrowgurneycc.co.uk) and social media (via the club’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts).

As the Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club, the club can reclaim Gift Aid on any individual donations, and these can also be set off against tax for higher rate tax payers. Please contact us for a Gift Aid declaration form.
