Barrow Gurney Cricket Club enjoys a beautiful setting, lying in the heart of the North Somerset countryside. Founded in 1874, the club aims to play competitive adult cricket at the highest level we can achieve whilst honouring our core value of being a family oriented, sociable, and friendly club.
We currently have a 1st XI which plays in the Bristol & District Division 4, a 2nd XI in Division 9 West and a Midweek XI, playing in the Bristol Midweek League, we also play some friendly social T20s and an annual game against the “Legends” (former Barrow players).
New players are always welcome. Barrow Gurney prides itself on developing all players and, in particular, we have a number of girl and women cricketers, two of whom have gone on to represent Somerset at county age group cricket and one who has represented the county in the County Championship. In 2018 we opened a female changing room in recognition of the part that women cricketers play in all our teams. Training for adults takes place at the ground 6pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday evenings in the summer.
